Fly Tying With My Son

My 8 year son Louie and I sat down earlier today and tied this wee nymph together, he chose the dubbing material , colour of the ribbing wire and tail material also.

We headed out and fished this afternoon and he caught a nice 4lb rainbow with it in a small local stream. He's now been on the internet looking at a vise he'd like and other tying materials... I may have created a monster but as a friend has just remarked to me the world needs more of these types of "monsters" ha ha ha so true. Louie said twice today how much more fun it was to be out fishing with me than sitting playing Ipad games or watching TV so a win all round !
