Laurents Multi-Day New Zealand Fly Fishing Adventure

This was Laurent’s 6th trip to New Zealand fly fishing and probably the trickiest in regards to the river conditions and weather. The lower South Island had been hammered by record flooding back in early December then again a week before he arrived with some rivers reaching flows never before seen since records have been kept ! The beauty of the Multi-Day trips is we have the flexibility to move around based on what the river conditions and weather systems are doing. We will then base ourselves there and search out the best river and stream options each day. We fished a variety of rivers and streams over the course of the 6 days all of which produced some fantastic fish and most on big dries which was nice !

We put in some big days on the rivers and notched up some big km’s , some of which involved clambering through some bouldery gorgey sections and others bashing through some thick under growth and long grass !
